The case
Why geese are better
Geese can be awful. They block paths, hiss at children, and stare at adults with real conviction. Nobody leaves a goose encounter wondering where the bird stood.
Bad cyclist encounters are harder to read. You walk along, minding your own business, and a bicycle appears near your elbow. Honk. The bell comes late, if it comes at all. Then the person who nearly clipped you explains shared infrastructure.
The goose is not polite. That is part of the appeal. No goose claims moral superiority while cutting across the path.
